I'd love to come see your tank! I've been wanting to talk to you since I read your last TOTM article where you mentioned a purple coral that wasn't as purple as you thought it should be because I had a similar problem, and I think I solved the problem by starting to dose iodine. I never dosed iodine before, but after talking with Ked L. I was convinced and have been using Lugols since the spring with some dramatic results. So I'm curious to find out how much you dose and how often?

Anyways, I'm off all next week so if you're free by chance give me a shout!

Sounds good Joe. I will PM you about the visit. As for the Iodine, I have been dosing 10 drops of Lugols 1X per week. All of my corals are doing really well but I am still not getting the deep, deep purple with my Purple Monsters than I am after. How much do you dose?

Sorry 'bout dropping the ball and missin' all the comments . . . just got caught up in my other hobby.

I have a space in the back of the tank on both sides so the Tunze's face crosswise. The streams form a type of x pattern across the tank top, but I run them on a 6 hour cycle one at a time with the fastest pulse I can going from min power to max power at about 3 second intervals.

I must admit sometimes I feel guilty because you wouldn't believe how much SPS I throw away. I am constantly trimming back; sometimes waaaay back and have thrown out 16 inch purple millepora colonies on more than one occasion. Unfortunately all my local friends are loaded up with the same stuff. I guess it's a good problem to have
