hey everybody today is the day that i get my g smithi!!!

temp 79 F
SG. 1.024
Ph. 8.3
Am. 0
No2. 0
No3. 0

my plan was to drip acclimate the little guy for about 2-3hrs of time. is this adiquate? (i suck at speling)

is there anything special i need to do, or take into consideration befe i plop him in?:D

Dr. Roy any specific tips or suggestions?

also thank all of you for all your help. this site has by far been the most valuable and least expensive thing ive done for the tank.

i couldn't have done so well with out all yall. thank you:beer:

When you get the animal, hand the bag in the tank to bring it to the tank temperature. This time of year, the animal will probably be cold when it arrives. After an hour or so, I would open the bag and check the salinity. If it is the same as your tank, add some of your tank water to the bag, about a half cup at a time every few minutes and after the temperatures are the same, dump that animal in. Keep lights off today. If the salinities are more and a couple of parts off, go slower or use the dirp.

oh boy!

oh boy!

so frggin excited. lil guys acclimating as we speak. ill have pictures in like the next hour.

im totally stoked!:D

damn

damn

camera sucks, all pics are blurry. ill have some soon though.

so lil guy (BuB) got acclimated to his new home last night. he preceded to explore the entire tank, and "front" on everthing in it.

then he dissapeared entirely. but i have an excessive amount of cavernous rock work, so i hoping he is just playing incognito mantis.

allthough a couple hermits look absolutly traumatized this morning:D

where did he go?

where did he go?

so i just need a lil reaffirmation that i am right in the assumption that i shouldent be expecting to see much of beelzebub the mantis while he adjusts to his new home, right?
