Drain into sump via a bulkhead

Any issues plumbing a drain this way? I have two 1 inch drains and the bulkhead is for a 1.5 inch pipe. I was thinking it would be a cleaner install that thr way its done now. Im currently using a mag 12 as my return pump. Will this work or will it cause issues?

Sorry....the tank is a reef ready tank with dual overflows. I was referring to the drain lines entering my sump. Also...anyone have any experience with the flex pool line?

I would use them both as drains and bring the return over the top. You should probably put a ball or gate valve on the output side of the pump as well.

Are you speaking of the gray, corrugated flexible pool line? I used it to drain a couple of 1" drains into my old sump. Worked like it was supposed to. I didn't get any buildup (at least not any that significantly reduced the flow) because of the corrugations, if that is your concern..

Hey Super Steve
I was more concerned with longevity. I wonder how it stands to the test of time. I've seen that stuff left outside and it can fall apart. Now I know that inside a tank stand and left out in the sun are two very differences. I think it would make my plumbing look way cleaner if I used that instead all PVC like it is now. Plus I think it would be easier to work into my new sump (once its done...).

I used it for about 3 years until I built a new tank and then I didn't need it anymore. Still seemed to be in great shape after that amount of time. I wouldn't think it would break down unless there was some UV light getting to it somehow.

It IS very easy to work with and made the setup of my old sump a breeze. Unless someone else has had issues with it I wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
