Well I'd definitely pay before I took it home. I'm sure it'll work for me. I'm going to run 1" drains with the full siphon dialed WAY back. I think a single 3/4" return with a 3/4-1/2" reducer to a 1/2" "Y" fitting with 1/2" eductors on each side. Hopefully narrowing down the pipe towards the outlet and using the eductors will provide some pretty good flow.........hopefully.

hey guys i have a small leak in my 400 gallon from the bulkheads in the overflow box built inside the corner of the rectangular tank...they are 2 durso setups using 1.5 inch bulkheads. they flow so so, and i have to turn down my dolphin pump so i dont overflow the tank..i just saw that i could possibly use a open top downpipe with a gate valve to significantly improve my flow....i have to pull them for the small leak, so i was considering changing the setup....what do you think? suggestions please....

I think it would be worth a shot. it will be quieter and seems like ti would flow a bit more water faster through a strait pipe rather than a durso.

Should work fine... just keep the drain pipe low enough in the overflow so that it doesn't pull in air.
