Dream a little clownfish tank dream with me...

I've had several setups in the past and many many dream fish lists. While I wrap up renovations on this house all I can do right now is dream about what my next setup will be (drywall compound dust is no good for a fish tank). So I dream. And I try and be realistic. I try. So after watching the BRS clownfish species tank videos and letting that stew for a while I'm really warming up to the idea of a species only tank. I like the idea of a more natural tank scene, and what's more natural then a bunch of clowns and a bunch of anemones?!

SO, if among the tanks YOU had sitting in your garage was a 48x30x16" 100g (the largest tank that will fit in this particular 104 yr old house) and were contemplating a species only/dominant tank of BTAs & clownfish, how would ya do it?! How many clownfish and how many BTA's would you try and fit in? Could any other fish compliment/help keep a clutch in check? How would you feed? How would you filter? What would YOU do? What would you NOT do?!

(I have a basement and would likely do sump, filtration and QT tanks there. All the space I could possibly need- all magic upstairs, all utility & laboratory downstairs)

You need a place where the temp is control. Garage is just too hot in summer and too cold in winter for a reef tank. Best keep it in the house. You can wall it off and turn part of your garage into a fish room and insulate it

What you definetly want to do with the clowns is by the from the same store at the same time so you don't end up with two females.
Also when you quarantine them they can't be split up or you will end up with dead clowns.
The clowns might also not go in the BTA's

I've read through the 27 clowns for 27 months thread and am still quite interested in the idea, to spite my inherent belief that more than 1 pair of clowns equals death... I understand I'd have to find a clutch of youngsters and get them all at once from one brood. I'm curious of what special circumstances exist when raising a clutch together beyond 'maturity'. However, my biggest problem now is that I may need to wait a whole bunch longer as I *may* be transferring to LA.

I guess that means more time to research...
