Dream Tank with lots of fishes...

luamada

Love saltwater fishes...
I decided to start this thread to keep an upt-o-date on the my fishes and their care and concerns...
A little feedback:
I always dreamed of a big fish tank so I decided to start with a list.. How many fishes I wanted to have and then decided on the side of the tank. It came up to 350G plus 100G sump with a refugium etc...
To have those fishes I needed to have the quarantine tanks... so I started with this 55 tank... cycled it and started to add my fishes... ADDED in the following order:
6 CARDINALS
2 BLACK AND WHITE SNOWFLAKES CLOWNS
7 GREEN CHROMES
7 BLUE CHROMES
1 SIX LINES WRASSE (that I had on another tank)
ALSO have on this tank:
2 cleaner shrimps
1 red shrimp
2 anemonies (green and purple tip)
snails, crabs,
CORALS... zoas, green and purple hammers, dandrophylia, etc...

Then after this quarantine tank, I started another quarantine for the more sensitive fishes... in case I need to give them some medication (as the rocks would make it difficult to give them medications). Anyways... I started a 90 gallons, with the sump filtration, and a good system. Installing the skimmer on it today (rated for 250 G one).

DAY 2 of the 90 Gallons fishes... (tank has been cycling for 3 months). We added these fishes there two days ago:
5 yellow Tangs fishes
3 blue Royal Tangs fishes
1 Naso Tang
2 Orange Snow Flakes Clowns
2 Purple Fire fishes

TODAY they learned to eat the algae from the clip... yeayy... so happy. I know that most people will say that it is crazy. I have been researching this for a long time and I saw that some people were successful keeping some higher number of tangs... I am praying that I will be one of them... I am really scared but hopeful. I LOVE TANGS...

I am also keeping the temperature a little higher than on my other tanks.. this one I am keeping about 79 to 80 until they are older and stronger. I had pipes in there but I removed the pipes and they were more scared of the pipes than anything also (turning white), now they are all yellow and the Naso lost the white spots (scared). I have a LED light and the water is:
AMONIA 0
NITRITE 0
NITRATE 2 (NOT 20)
PH 8.1
ALK 9
CALCIUM 375 - a little too low so will do a water change to try to get to 0 nitrate) and test calcium again but it does not matter much for fishes (from what I have red)
MG - 1440
PHOSPHATE - 0.16 (I may add a phosphate reactor if this does not go done with water changes)
I am adding 3 purple tangs (babies) so they grow together to avoid aggression... then I add the other ones that I want but they require a tank with sand and cycled... I am working on my tank now to cycle it... I think it will take 3 to four month before I can add any fishes to it... but I want to add most of the fishes together to avoid them fighting..

Beautiful what will be your DT. Like the direction you are heading with all the tangs... When my 625g is up and running it will be a angel/tang tank only... Well and my Quoyi and pyramids

Oh waw 625G are you starting it? Do you have a thread here? I love the aquilis... in your picture. I want to have an aquillis added to my list... but still reading about them..

No thread yet, I have to move to be able to set it up long term. It will be awesome. 7ftx6ftx2ft... It sounds big and then you see it in person and it brings a whole new perspective.

More addition to the quarantine tank so we can get ready for the display tank... so happy with the water quality on my 55 G and on my 90G... moving along...

That's an awful lot of fish to add to even a cycled tank all at once. First rule of aquariums is nothing good comes from rushing.
