drill day

Finished my cabinet last weekend. Afterwards I was going to drill the tank and when I went to Homedepot (then lowes, ace and 2 tile shops"¦) nobody had the right size diamond drill bit to drill my overflows. BRS got me set up with superfast shipping and was much less expensive.

So I have a decent cordless drill but am concerened that it may not have the wallop that I need to get 5 holes poked through thick glass. I am picking up a new drill tomorrow then on Sunday its on.

If I dont end up destroying my tank I will be creating a build thread. If not there will be a very inexpenisive reptile habitat on craigslist next week. Wish me luck...

The drilling went well! 5 holes and the worst thing that happened was some very minor chipping around the edges of 1 of the holes. I am hoping that is not a problem and the piece that came off is less than a mm in thickness and only about 1 inch long.

Since I didnt break the thing I guess its time to figure out how to post pics on this site and start up a build thread.

next up is selecting a pump to push my closed loop im debating between a reeflo hammerhead or a reeflo dart or a iwaki md55.

The pump is going to be in the cabinet so it is important that it is not too loud

Will, for the pictures just start s photo bucket account and copy/paste the image code over, it's the easiest way.

Go with a dart, I have a barracuda and had to reduce the flow on it. They will all have some hummm to them, you get used to it after a while
