DSB in fuge

I just recently started my fuge up and added around 2.5 inches of sand. I know that most DSB's are in the 4" range, but will this be a problem?


There is super slow movement in the fuge right now but the turnover is definately there.

There was a big article in Aquarium Fish Magazine that DSBs can be disasters waiting to happen, and that they really haven't proven to be any better than just a couple inches of sand.

would 2- 2.5 be constituted as a DSB, would this be bad?

No 2.5 inches is not a dsb. I think that would be perfect for your fuge.
Some people swear by dsb's though, so it's up to you what you want to do. After reading that article though, I don't think I'll ever do a dsb again.

That article is in the March issue. They send out the magazine way ahead of time. It's called "Delving into Deep Sand Beds". The one they have online is still February.
