I am in the process of setting up a 120g (4x2x2') FOWLR with a sandbed averaging 4-5" in depth. The aquarium will have a glass lid to keep the evaporation rate down and the inhabitants inside.

Below are some of the fish and inverts I am planning on keeping in order of interest. Do you sense any trouble? I want the tank to behave like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood without the creepiness.

1-2 jawfish (blue spot or yellowhead)
1 green mandarin (in the future)
3-5 garden eels
pistol shrimp/goby (if they also get along with peppermint and fireshrimp)
1-3 of the hardier pipefish

The rest will be small peaceful reef fish - ocellaris clowns , firefish, cardinals, chalk bass... etc.

Thanks!

Honestly I'd put only 2 or 3 pieces of live rock, add the jawfish, the pistol shrimp/goby combo, the garden eels, a fire shrimp, the pipefish and a ton of macro algae/seagrass. Then add a couple captive bred seahorses. It would look neat and everyone would get along pretty well. Skip the Mandarin unless you can find one eating frozen and can feed it 4-5x daily.
