Hi chingchai,

I've been meaning to ask you this question for a long time:
If you were doing it over... what would you do different?
I wouldn't be surprised if the answer was "nothing" with all the planning that went into your new setup, but you never know.
B.

Good question.
The answer is I will build bigger tank than this. Seriously.

Sawatdee Khrab ChingChai,

A little topic ... couldn't help but notice the LInn Sneaky Music DS and wondering if your whole system comprises of an ALL Linn set up? If so are they all Aktiv?

Most excellent tank ... IMHO  !!

Thanks,
Paul

Paul. Thanks.
I just have a small in-wall speaker from Linn.

Just finished reading through both splits. Absolutely an amazing build! It has been a pleasure to see your dream coming together.

With so many sps placed so close to each other, do you have any issues with the corals stinging their neighbors? Or are you constantly producing new frags?

makoslo. Thanks.
Corals look close but there still are gap between them.
I will frag some when they grow up.

Well, here comes the worst part of my dream.
My tank got oodinium since last Monday.
The outbreak started from Black Tang to other fishes.

I used to have this experience in our fish tank club.
I think they all can made it just like last time. Maybe I am too optimistic or overconfident.

This time luck is not on my side.
I lost almost my old and new fishes.

Until today, those who can survive are:
Blue Eye Cardinal x 10
Resplendent Angelfish x 1
Mystery Wrasse x 1

Just like some of you guys' recommendation, I should QT my new fishes but I didn't.
So it is totally my fault.

Chingchai, your tank is still amazing. It looks as i some of those corals have been there for years and years growing into place. I actually have a ich outbreak in my tank. Right now it is only on 2 fish and they have been eating good and swimming. Seem to be getting back health though neither one was ever sickly. I qurantined ALL of my fish. I treated with Prazi for flukes, and I also run copper in the QT tank. My tank was a brand new build and I STILL got Ich in 2 fish. I don't care what anyone says now about qurantine and personally I have radically changed my regime and theory.

I still qurantine all new fish but only to gut load and make them incredibly fat and healthy before introduction to the new tank. I look at the qurantine now as a incubator to heal them and make them healthy before introduction to the main tank. Water Quality, Vitamin enriched foods, garlic and lots of feedings 3/4 times a day and the Ich seems to be abating. I hope your tank pulls through and I look forward to your Qurantine Tank build.

Your tank is still absolutely beautiful but I know you must be very saddened and frustrated by the fish deaths. I'm very sorry for your loss. These things can happen no matter how hard we try or what we do. Don't beat yourself up. Onwards and upwards!

ChingChai .... so sorry to hear the fish loss :sad2: ... I'd guess it's time to set up a quarantine tank strictly for newly purchased fish.

Paul

Extremely sorry for your loss Ching. That was an amazing selection of fish you had in there. I hope you have a speedy recovery, but i know it will be very difficult....

Sorry for your fish loss. hope the remaining ones will make it.
Maybe setup a small introduction tank something that looks a bit nice, even with a sand bed some corals and maybe a few inverts... and where you can enjoy your fish a bit before introducing them to the tank. That I guess would be better for a new fish than a Q tank environment, wich you still need to have to medicate fish in case they show symptoms while in the introduction tank.
Your tank still looks great.

ching,
im very sorry to hear about your live stock loss
i have never QT my fish either but from what ive read about people taking risks and thinking everything will be ok as long as they bought from a reputable place" me included" doesnt always work out that way

so im not being stubborn anymore and have since a few weeks ago set up a QT downstairs

what would be bad is to have fish for some time and get attached to them and one ill fated live stock purchase with no QT means lossing some/most/if not all of your fish

BTW great job on the controller board enclosure!
