DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Am I correct in reading that this tank is not even 6 months old yet? This is surely a top end build, with awesome equipment, awesome livestock, and a very skilled keeper/maintenance crew, but I instead see this tank as a greatly created tank. It was assembled. It would be much much more impressive if it had grown into this, IMHO. I fear that it is already massively overstocked with quickly growing corals with no room to grow. However, each and every coral does look beautiful. I wish you luck, and sharp cutting tools for the constant and non ending pruning and managing this reef with require in order to keep it in its pristine state.

Good luck, and thanks for the wonderful pics.

jmaneyapanda. Thank you for your advice.
You are correct.
This tank is about 5 and a half months old.
It is still a long way to go.
Let's just wait and see.

Everytime I look at your tank I am amazed! The colors on your Corals are incredible. When do you think you are gonna put the Achilles in the Display Tank?

Thanks again Ching.

David. Thanks.
Now I only have 2 Achilles in my sump.
Still searching for other three of them.

Alot of the corals are from his other tank that was on RC that was incredible as well, just not on this scale. It wasn't just 'created'.

??? Uh, this tank is less than 6 months old, wherever the corals came from, was just created. Like I said, I am not knocking anyones skill, expertise, or otherwise. I am just a bit taken back at how quickly this tank was assembled to give the look of a mature, well established reef. Just my honest impression.

Like I mentioned though- very beautiful.

5 achilles will be incredible, but to avoid fighting they must be introduced at the same time, looking forward to seeing them in that magnificent aquarium!

Ha! Envy isn't a good color on you!

I think jmaney's concerns, while a little blunt maybe, are valid. The design and layout of the tank is spectacular, but to go from empty box to what looks like a mature reef tank a decade old in 6 months seems like a stocking plan that is going to run into problems sooner rather than later. If what I remember of earlier parts of this thread is true, chingchai had massive fish die off from rushing the QT stage (glad to see you have a top notch QT setup now and are taking the precautions :) )- the same isn't going to be true of corals, but filling a tank with corals so completely this early seems like it might be something to reconsider.

People loading a brand new tank down with freshly bought full colonies seems to be an issue that crops up every now and then, but it sounds like at least some of these were from chingchai's previous tank so that might not be the case. This is a beautiful aquarium and a sight to see, don't get me wrong, but you might have less headache in the future if you take the lessons from the fish issue to heart when it comes to coral. Chingchai, you have such great growth from your amazing equipment setup that you are gonna be snorkeling in that tank every 2 weeks cutting out buckets of frags hehe.

Hi Chingchai , you tried in you your previous tank 10000k with T12 actinic , and with recently tank 20000k ( and you have deeper tank ) , did you thing if you use 10000k with T12 actinic will show more natural colors for the corals and you have more lights to puncture the water to hit the deep corals in the down of tank ?

This continues to be one of the best tanks I have ever seen.

If you end up snorkeling to cut frags every couple of weeks, can I get one of the bucketfuls please?.
