In my country, Coral farm use to have such gems for sale. a mating pair cost about US$300 to $500 4 years ago. Yes a pair. Now, i hardly see any shipment coming. perhaps all go to Thailand to fetch a better price. :)

Actually it is coming from Hong Kong.
There are only two pairs.

Kev,

It's the peak of the moonsoon season over there right now. Salinity in the Gulf of Thailand is very, very low. It's probably no more than 1.017-1.019 SG. Maybe that's why he's not using natural seawater right now.

:D

Yes, you are right.:)

That is a very cool fish!!!
They sell it here but it is Out of Stock. Did you buy them already??

I keep enjoying the thread, as a matter of fact, this is the only thread that my wife actually asks about!!! She is always like: "Has that guy with the beautiful tank posted any pictures??" (literally) :)
She was pretty disappointed when the last 3-4 pages were nonsensical rants :P (no pictures)

I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. Any new addition to your masterpiece is always fantastic and thought provoking. Thank you again for sharing. And congratulations on the addition of salt and water!

This is off topic but I just want to share it with you guys.
Last night there was big shipment of corals and fishes coming to BKK.
I can say that so far it is the shipment of the year.
Plenty of rare and nice SPS, LPS, etc.

My friend(owner of LFS) told me that the farm owner go to Canada for vacation after this big sale!!!

That LFS is unreal. I've never seen anything like it. Why would anyone NOT want to live in Thailand?

I have NEVER seen anything like that in the US. What do those pieces go for $US?

THE LFS where I live would probably try to charge around $600 for pieces of coral that look that nice, they often want around $100 for less than an inch.
