DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

It would be nice that you edited or even create a index gallery where you put the name of the species and a picture. That way if someone likes something we can order to our fish supplier by name :)

Great looking project ! One of the best for sure ! Congrats !

Juan. Welcome to Reef Central.
You mean index of coral. Right?
If so, I am sorry to tell you that I am not good on identifying them.

Sawasdee krup Chingchai!!!, With my wife we are planning some holidays in lovely Thailand in the mid august I wonder if it is possible to arrange a meeting to visit your incredible tank while we are in BKK, so far we know that we will be in BKK the last days of august, if it is not a problem for you, it´ll be great and "The Grand Finale" for my holidays!!!

Please let me know if it is possible!!

Regards from Chile

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

You are welcome to see my tank.

Cheers,

yeah, yeah, yeah, I've seen better. In fact, my system is sooooo much nicer. Then again, I have X-ray vision, am invisible, and breathe fire.

Very, very nice tank! Really something to aspire to. Thanks for sharing here.

This tank is amazing it has taken me 3 days to look at all the photos (all 287 pages )

I have a question what is the number 1 show fish in your tank for you

For me it must be your C. resplendent

How does roger make the home made food? Also isn't it to fine for the fish to eat it?

I have had the pleasure of watching Rogger make his food from SCRATCH. He uses TOP quality ingredients--GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME TO EAT. Plus his packaging procedure is AMAZING.
As far as it being too thin... IMO fish AND corals LOVE IT!!!!
I am TOTALLY convinced this is THE BEST FOOD in the market BAR NONE

So he just blends all the ingredience together?

How does he package it?

Also who would he distrubute it to his fis?

Hi, In essence yes the food is just blended together, however, each ingredient is process individually some are hand diced or chopped, some are process completely frozen, some of the ingredients gets mixed separately and some get process under vacuum chambers to ensure total absorption of the amino acids and other liquid ingredients.
I package in a 4mil thick food and freezer grade ziplock bag using an automatic dispenser.
For your last question I am not sure I understand what you mean.

The food from Roger is so fine. How do the fish eat it?

Good question, the food is very fine however because of the way it is process it held together solid so that it allows the fish to bite of any size morsels their mouths can fit, this is why it works perfect with butterflies or groupers.

Okay. So u freeze it in a ziplock bag, and when u want to feed the fish you just break off a piece and put it into the tank?

So, u said in one of your blogs that you put Aloe Vera in the mix. I never new the fish liked Aloe Vera. How much would you recommend to put in? I can cut a piece of live aloe vera right from the plant, do you recommend doing this?

Yes, that is how it is fed, I use a small mesh and a clip that I hang from the cross brace of my tank.

I do use Aloe vera in the food, you should google aloe vera and read about the properties of it, the amount is going to be dependent on how much food you are mixing.
I did a presentation at MACNA 2010 regarding "the do's and donts of home made foods", I will be happy to email you the presentation if you like, I think it is a helpful guide for people that wants to do their own food. Pm me your email address if you like me to email it to you.
