DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Chingchai,

I was wondering if you would be able to tell me how the miracle mud is working out for you in the new tank? I am about to add it to MY new tank build and I was hoping to hear your thoughts about using it. I'm using the miracle mud with various macro algae.

I use Miracle Mud in my 120 tank with 40 gal sump as well. Can't really tell If it's better with or without since my first tank has only been up for 6 months. Just don't rely on it to fix any problems for you. It's just as easy for us to screw up our tanks as without.:blown:

Hey Ching. I love your tank. I am only on page 21 of the thread so I will wait to comment further. I am not a fan of SPS tanks, But I appreciate the beauty of them. I am also very impressed with your level of dedication to your personal fans. Did you only put in 30 pounds of mud in at a time and just keep the other boxes for change-outs?
Thanks
Daniel:wildone:
P.S. My cheato has been slowly getting smaller since I put it in the 'fuge. Macro doesn't like to grow as well IMO, just the hair algae in the dis-tank:lmao:

MM is doing fine but you can have a nice tank without it.

I saw a video of the way you rake the sand in the display tank. Is this something you do on a regular basis? If so, besides keeping the sand looking beautiful, is there a reason for doing this?
How often do you rake the sand?

Wow i cannot believe i been following this tank since 2009. Everytime i get a look at a updated picture i am amazed. That peppermint angel looks like its doing better than it would have been doing in the ocean. Awesome as always thanku.

Any chance you could do a video on all gear and tanks hidden and away in the cupboards (refugium sump frags mixing tanks skimmer soft corals uv camera warmer oven reactors pipework etc) would be awesome to see and hear you talk about all this stuff!
