DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hi Ching,

What type of lighting you are using on the softie tank? Im sorry if someone ask that before. your thread is too long to scroll back and look for the info. :)
Thanks, big Mike

Hey Ching, this isn't the only place that your getting attention!

What are you feeding your nonphotosynthetic tank? It is my understanding that the best way to try to keep some of those corals alive is to use a continuous dosing pump to feed the corals with a ton of laminar flow.

Everything is looking great. Have you seen any diatom blooms?

SERVO. Thanks for the link.

Now I feed this tank with Oyster egg, Frozen Cyclop eeze.
Also just order Phytoplankton from DT.
I may use dosing pump in the near future.

Yes, there is diatom blooms on the live sand in the first week but no more.
I still got some green hair algae on rock but there is getting less and less.

Wow I just went through all 100+ posts in these 2 threads and it was worth every bit of the time I spent. I spent some time with the web cam too

You have the best build I have ever seen. Better then 90% of the commercial/public aquariums in the world. Your planning and implementation of this project is superb.

I'm even more amazed. When I 1st looked at the final video I figured this aquarium was housed in a large mansion and then when going through the thread I realized it is house in what we Americans would call a townhouse. Simply amazing.

Let me correct myself --- I meant 100+ pages of posts --- LOL

My brain is a little mushed after going through all that.

Actually... All forums do (or should! ;)) have a topic about this majestic tank :) Really impressive, I hope to see it in person coming summer. On my way (back) to/from Vietnam I'll plan a stop in Thailand just for this!

Ching,

Thank you for making me loosing 3 hours at work reading this whole thread. :)

Honestly, one of the most impressive setups I've seen because well, there's bigger and I've seen bigger but this one is VERY well thought out.

I hope I can pop a visit and like someone said that would bring a bottle of wine, well, I wont be shame to do the same :

Well, the bottle aint nothing special but its one of the best , if not the best, Portuguese red wine.

This vintage ( 1999 ) costs over 350 usd here in Portugal.

So, when do I book the flight ? Do you have wine glasses ? :)

Honestly, congratulations on the tank room

here I put a summary of the assembly, the Brazilians were crazy with the quality of assembly.

Hi Ching
I saw a guy packing a nice shipment of corals and clams in HK to hand carry to Thailand.
You should have some awsome stuff there by now.

Ching,

I love your system! What I was most impressed with was the aquascaping. Now I'm thinking of a way to redo mine. Everything looks like it was thought through and planned including the little things. I'm excited as I'm sure everyone is here to watch it grow and thrive. Thank you for taking the time to give us all the details of your build and give references to your inspirations on the build. I spent the last 8 or so hours reading the build thread and got side tracked on some of your references before returning to read your build. It was not time wasted as it will help me on my next upgrade!

Thanks again and good luck with the system,
Ron
