So colorful already!

This is the most impressive reef tank i have ever seen. The attention to every detail and the quality of craftsmanship is simply incredible. Most of the big tanks are in-wall (looking kind of out-worn idea to me) and your's is a way different approach. You have assembled a very modern looking system - i mean the whole system with all and every one of the necessary accessories that come serving a big tank like this, being a masterpiece of craftsmanship in its own right. Big salute to you from around the globe ;)

Hello Chingchai,

I love your system (just like everyone else ;)).

I was wondering how your parameters are doing with the introduction of all of the livestock in such a short amount of time.

chingchai,

The first time I read this thread there were only 3 replies! That was a long time ago. I check it every week or so and am absolutely blown away.

At page 57 there I think I just started laughing here at work out loud. Those pictures are amazing. They are absolutely amazing.

Silent no more...

Dave

Ching,

I think you need, at least, one more pair of islands to accommodate all those nice colonies.

This must be the most youngest matured looking tank I have ever seen in my life. Love the clean look and those big pieces of corals.

If you don´t mind me asking, how are the corals doing in such a recent system? I have noticed your Turbinaria lost some tissue in its first pictures but seems to be recovering nicely. Also, how are the Apogons parvulus doing? Are they eating well? If so, what´s their diet?

Can´t wait to see some bigger fish in there... :)

Regards,
André

wow, this tank is amazing!
i love the way it looks like its floating with the blue light under it.
i was just wondering, how do you keep your sand bed so white?
also, i was wondering why you went with the tunzes for your main tank and vortechs for the other tanks in your system? why not all vortechs, or all tunzes?

I hope coralline never grows on that back glass! It looks so nice that its clear! Everything looks so clean and colorful.

Funny how many people's questions would be answered if they'd just take a few minutes to read the answers to similar questions that Ching so meticulously takes the time to answer....as for a few of them...

He feeds his softy tank oyster eggs.

His parameters have been pretty stable given everything. He posts an update every so often. You figure, with all the equipment he has, including that huge Ca reactor, it won't have much of a problem right now keeping up with everything.

He manually turns over the sand once a week. That's how it stays so white and clean looking.

:)

Chingchai,

All I can say is wow as I don't have any words to describe what I've just read. And yes I read the entire thread start to finish. Your attention to detail and high level of precision in the build in impeccable. Your planning and the crews that did the build and install, top notch in my book. I can't wait to see more fish go in and watch this tank grow and mature.

I do have one request though, as I'm sure others will be doing the same. Any chance we can get a High Res shot of the tank to use as desktops for our computers?

Regards,

Scott

Ching, when you say you stir the sand bed do you stir from the bottom of the sand all the way back and front.Do you think this is a good idea. Will this increase nitrates.Planning to do the same on a weekly basis while doing WC.

A true masterpiece. Hands down the finest all around reef tank. period. The attention to detail is bar none. Well done, and look forward to its progression.
I honestly don't think reef tanks get more perfect than this.

Exactly. On one hand it gives me something to aspire to with my setup currently in progress (nowhere near the size, 240 display and roughly 500 total volume). On the other hand, it makes it difficult to find the same love for my reef! My heart has already been taken by this amazing setup! :love1:

Chingchai,

I have followed your thread from the beginning but haven't posted before now. The latest pictures are stunning. The tank is like a beautiful piece of artwork that really draws you in. Thanks for sharing, it is truly inspiring.

kingsland. Thank you for your kind words.

I am sure in a couple of months Mr.David Saxby will say the same thing that most of us think about your tank
IMO you have the best built ever ! I know there are more bigger and badder tank out there but your attention to ever little details make your tank the best!
Steve Weast might say the same thing before his tank crash!

Both of them are my inspiration.
