As always you posted beautiful pictures Ching, sad to hear about your ventralis. The blue/grey sponge in your picture is really nice, but here we have quite some people experiencing it becoming a pest, so my advice is to be really careful. We didn't find a natural enemy keepable in reef tanks yet...

Ching, your system is very well planned and executed so Im sure there's a reason and maybe this question has already been answered but instead of using a separate pump for each device, why didn't you use one larger pump and create a manifold to each?

I would think it would create less heat and plumbing for the system.

Then again, if the single pump went bad nothing would be running where if you have a pump go bad now, only one device in the system would be down...
 
I think it is a non-photosynthetic gorgonia...

And yess.. is an incredible organism.. well.. all the sistem, tanks and inhabitants are amazing!!!
