DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

i see that you use a vortech in the frag tank. Any reason other than to see how it compares to the tunzes?

Everything here is outstanding ....even the number of views on this thread:521,217 as of 10/19/09 11:17 am U.S. Central Time not mentioning the number of replies from different countries. Should be voted for the Thread of the Month or Thread of the Year.......Fantastic !!!!

This is hands down the tank of the year. lol maybe even the decade.

just draw dropping.. I find myself staring at the pics without blinking and am just star struck and how you accomplished this tank. Been reading from day one and I just dont know how to describe how much this tank makes me so happy haha...

I fwd your tank progress pics to my collegues at work and they cant believe someone has this in their house, lol. Well neither can I but all I can say is you are a reefing god, haha...

I spent the whole weekend to catch up to this point and All I can say is "WOW" what a dream of yours to come true. Very well taught and everything is phenomenal. Congratulations to you Chingchai. I've been in Bangkok many times by the Pratunam area...not sure how far are you from there. I love riding the TUK TUK.

Chingchai,
If this were a competition with Mother Nature ....... you have won!!!!

I don't think I am overstating the obvious when I say your accomplishment is clearly the best this discipline has to offer.

Someone has already suggested Tank of the Decade as appropriate recognition and I agree. You have brought 'art' to the science of maintaining a reef habitat. Many of us will try and walk down the path you have defined and the hobby will be the better for it.

I look at the various examples of previous tank of the year candidates and while worthy none holds a candle to your achievement. This last set of pictures took my breath away. I have been staring at them again and again in disbelief. Apart from the fact that no one has seen anything like it, this is impossible to imagine with a cold start 6 months ago!

Chingchai you have no peer.......Thank you so very much for your efforts and your incredible patience with our questions.

Peter

fishuntbike. Thanks.
Riding in Tuk Tuk is fun.
My house is 15-20 minutes by taxi from Pratunam. Not far.

I'm completely speechless! seriously, I cannot think of anyway to describe the artistic beauty of this tank! I am wondering, did you have to go diving to place all the corals? or did you drain the level down?

Hi Chingchai,

You must be getting tired by now of all these compliments, superlatives and people inviting themselves to visit...
But hey, it is your own fault!
There is no competition for the tank you've built and the pictures you've posted above are truly marvelous!!! Colours of your corals are amazing and the technique superb! On top of that the courtesy to answer to each and any poster...

Pls accept my humble regards...

vanvelzen. Thank you.
There are so many beautiful tanks in Netherland.
I wish I can visit some day.

Chingchai, Do you have any cleanup crew? How are you keeping your sand so white!

I only have cleaner shrimps, peppermint shrimps, blood red fire shrimps and pair of sally lightfoot crabs.

My sand is so white because I manually shift it once a week.

Insane. Just.... insane.

I am completely amazed at the quality of planning and workmanship that went into this. If I ever get the chance to visit Thailand I'll have to look you up and bring a few bottles of good wine with me.

I know you said that the noise was acceptable to you. Is there much humming from the pump?

Also, whoever mentioned the modified pump with a buffing pad, thank you. I really want to try that out on our acrylic tank.

I wish you the best of luck with your business, family, and tank chingchai. Thank you for sharing this spectacular build with us!

midna. Thanks.
Let me know when you come to BKK.
There is almost noiseless from RD2 pump. Very happy with it.
Now I still have some noise from the outlet pipe. Will fix it soon.

All the best to you and your family as well.
