DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

Hi Ching,

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful tank with us. Thank you for sharing the detailed build process. An amazing amount of work has gone into this and it brings a lot of joy to others as well.

Hi Ching,

tank is looking amazing,

Do you have any troubles with a build up of detritus in your drain pipes with the way you have them running to your sump from the tank?

Aquarium is looking great your fish are some of the most exciting reef fish around, love them
How is that led lighting unit working out for you on the frag tank? good ? Are you satisfied with it?

Hi Ching,

Fantastic build thread in every way ;) . I absolutely love this tank.

I started reading this thread some time ago and did'nt keep up w/ it so I have gone back and started reading again from the beginning. As you can tell I am only up to about page 75 now.

I was looking at these pics of your sump and wondered if you took off the 90deg. elbow on the drain from the skimmer and replaced it w/ a "T". I do this w/ my skimmer drains and then you can submerge the drain and this will cut back on noise and may solve some micro bubble issues if you have any as well it will eliminate that salt spray from the side of the sump walls.

It's pretty simple to do. You would just take off the 90deg elbow and replace it w/ a "T" and extend the pipe going into the sump so it is submerged and then add a pipe going up. You can cap that pipe and drill a hole in the cap so it is vented and water flows freely.

Just a thought....Who knows, I'm only on page 75 so maybe you have changed this already ;)

great job,

Chad

Chad. Thanks a lot for your kind words and comment.
I already changed it.

Hey ching

Any update on that trio of interruptus? Are they still in QT or display tank already.

Do you have any more shots of the resplendent. Was in love with it, been looking for one till now.

Really beautiful pair of helfrich goby. Was doing well in the shop for sometime, guess you shouldn't have any problem with them:p:p

They are still in QT.
I will put them in display tank next week.

Will take more shots of resplendent soon.

Shawn. Thanks.
LED lighting is great. I prefer it more than T5.

Just amazing

I wanted to know what the growth in ur corals how fast or how slow are they growing

Izek. Thank you.
The growth rate of my corals is different.
Some grow fast but some don't.
It depends on many factors:
- specie
- position
- heath
etc.

Ching, could you post a picture of how it looks now? Thanks

PD: Loving the thread

gasbatalla. Thank you.

Chingchai,

I have been following this thread forever, but I can't seem to remember if anyone ever asked... What do you do for a living? I don't mean to be intrusive, I'm just curious.:wavehand:
