DSPS tank from Thailand (1000 gallon+)

ChingChai,
I have been following this thread since the beginning and I was impressed when I saw your first sketch. Your attention to detail is unsurpassed! Your stocking is magnificent and your taste is exquisite. Great Job!

People have their own way to maintain their tank.
So far I am happy with not adding any trace elements.
Thank you for your comment.

Yes, everybody has their own way but you are "A great example" for many people!!!! So how often do you do a waterchange and how many water do you change then?? Haha, a lot of questions, apologies me for that chingchai!! :D

Wow ChingChai you have the most amazing aquarium I've seen! This is my new inspiration! =)

If you don't mind answering, how much does the maintenance of your tank cost you monthly/anually? Including fish food, water changes, salt, filter changes, and so on.

If you don't want to discuss the cost, would you at least give a detailed break down of what you do to maintain the tank? On a daily/monthly basis? Can't wait to hear from you!

No need to apologize. I am happy to answer any question.

Sorry I don't want to discuss the cost. Too much headache.:sad2:
Here is what I roughly do:
daily
- fish food ( frozen, dried, pallet etc.)
- coral food (DT's oyster egg, Nutrakol, frozen Cyclop-eeze, frozen plankton )
weekly
- water change ( 1 bucket of salt )
every two week
- Biodigest ( 5 ampoule )
- Bioptim ( 25 ampoule )
monthly
- carbon media ( TLF )
- phosphate media ( Rowaphos )
- calcium reactor media ( Schuran )

Chingchai if its okay to ask another question connected to your post... you dosing biodigest so i believe your system is running in bacteria also... and if it so... do your fuge or the mud system get affected by low nutrients? sorry if my question is quite confusing... cause im just confused by some disclaimer by bacteria driven products that fuge will not be able to cope up with bacteria driven system... thanks again Chingchai...

The change in lights is awesome Ching :) I've always loved the Ushios, but I'll be damned if your reef doesn't look amazing under the Aquastars. Good choice.

It takes alot just to maintain that maintenance. Good for you ching! The new bulbs do look good although the old ones were great too.
Keep up the great work!
Rob

Is your profilux type 2, 2 plus ..., 3, 3 eX??
And what do you control with this profilux?? Also.. You have some tunze multicontrollers and wavecontrollers, but couldn't you control that functions with the profilux??
And your ozon-installation isn't that clear for me.. Euhm.. HDPE (high density polyethylene) is used for?? And this material has also have to be changed every ...?? And the carbon that's also connected at the filter?? Could you just tell me a little bit about this system, because my question isn't that clear I think :))??

Hello Ching

Absolutely beautiful ching, your tank now brighter and color look more nature.

Ching, i want to ask you, do you always turn off your skimmer when you add calcium, carbonate alkalinity, trace elements additive, prodibio biodigest, prodibio biptim ?

I want your advise, it's safe to used H&S Sulfur filter in the reef tank ?

thanks again Ching cai

Hi Ching,

Been reading your thread since morning- for the last 6 hours. The best ever. Keep up the good work. Bangkok has become a must visit place after reading this thread. And many like me must have come before for this pilgrimage to your tank. And many more will follow.

Cheers,

Vijay.

Sorry for late reply.
No, there is no affect on my refugium.
Some people do mention about this matter but I don't think so.
