Dual BRS reactor Help

Okay so I finally hooked up my BRS dual reactor. Was running a single for a while. I have the Cobalt MJ1200 with a valve. I put in my GFO and carbon and I can not get the GFO to tumble at all. I thought maybe my lines were too long so I shorten them to see if pressure was the issue. I tried everything. Any ideas? My reactor is on the wall to the left of my sump. I had the lines running to the return side which is on the right. I thought it was too long of travel, so I put the pump and return for the reactor in the skimmer section (left side) and still not working. Any ideas??

height... MJ pumps can't pump much head pressure at all. You have your GFO and Carbon canisters too hight above your sump...

I tried running it inside the sump free standing with the pump and outflow line as short as can be and still no tumble. The lines were cut to about a few inches. It's not a head pressure issue. :/

I have the exact same problem you do and am in the process of trying to rectify it. One issue I had is that when I mounted it the cannisters were slightly at an angle which I found that for the GFO to tumble it really needs to be completely vertical. The other thing I am doing is switching it but turning the cannisters and running them from a "Y" adapter so I can send the majority of the the water to the GFO and then regulate them independently. I am hoping that this solves the issue!

Make sure the inside canisters are in the right way... I believe the have an arrow that should point up. Just a thought.

I thought the pads were only for the carbon to stop it from tumbling. The gfo should sit on the bottom of the canister. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I run a single as well and plan on hooking my dual reactor up tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

/facepalm okay I feel like an idiot. So all the video's i have watched the "intake" was on the left side. Mine is on the right side (carbon side). Needless to say I got it working great now. The MJ1200 is way more than enough to get it going hahaha. smh it's the little things that get you...or just me.

Great you got it going. YouTube is great. Is the reactor on the wall still?

Yes I have it still on the wall. It's about even with my tank stand. I don't have the room in my stand to mount it, otherwise I would. But the mj1200 is definitely too strong. I have it tuned back a bit. Getting a nice soft tumble not too crazy.

It's a good thing to have the pump over sized! You should keep an eye on the GFO because over time you will need to give it more flow. Mine tends to need minor adjusting after a week or so.

I have same reactor... it works great.

As stated you should not have any sponges in it for the GFO side... only the carbon side as you want to pack that tightly between the sponges to prevent the carbon from tumbling and grinding itself down into dust.

I do not have any sponges on the gfo at all. I got the reactor working perfect now. Thank you all for the info
