Dual wave boxes?

I have a ~280 gal tank, 72x36x24 and I'm experiencing some lack of flow. I currently have two closed loops and I'm thinking of getting rid of one of them.. I've decided to take a look at the wave boxes. My tank is 3 side viewable with the overflow on the back end. The overflow does not take up the whole 36" back. There is about 5" between the overflow and the sides of the tank.. My idea is to incorporate two wave boxes, one on each side of the overflow. Has this ever been done before? Will the sync up with each other? Do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks for the help.

They have to sync or they won't work at all. I would just get one to start. The wavebox is not a stand alone flow solution, you need a directional flow from Streams or a closed loop to go along with it. The wavebox has to be aimed down the length of the tank and on a tank that wide will have to be roughly centered.

Well, having a single wave box isn't a real option. Or at least I wouldn't know where to put it. There is no way to put it in the center of the tank. The only locations I could put them would be next to the overflow box, basically touching the long sides of the tank. If I just had one, I would think the "wave" would only really travel along that side of the tank. Or am I wrong here? Would having it there work? I do plan on keeping the one closed loop for flow.

It MUST be place on an end- one of the 36" by 24" panes to work period. It works on the principle of resonance frequency and the shortest possible length to get a proper frequency is about 36", it would barely work width wise and would be a waste of money, even with 2 you might get a 1/2" wave, vs lengthwise a 1.5" wave. This applies whether you use one or two.
