Dumbest Clowns Ever?!?!?!?

Okay maybe not the dumbest but the most annoying. I have 2 black Occs. in the 12 gallon I have and they are crazy. All they do is swim in the very top portion of the tank. They swim all over the place. My wife says they are playing tag!! I wish they would settle in a little bit and explore the rest of the tank. Is there anything I can do to help them settle in? They have only been in the tank for 5 days. It seems like they are stressed out(at least I am). Any suggestions? Thanks Chris

Clowns are an odd breed. I have never met a meaner fish than my maroon. She killed her mate when he tried to host the BTA with her and she bites and headbutts my hand everytime I clean the tank.

They should settle down after awhile. They always seem to do that for a week or so until they get adjusted. I wouldn't worry about it.

That isn't even NEAR as annoying as my A. ocellaris. She will kill coral frags & even small colonies by knocking them on the sand if she doesn't like them (which is most, unless having strong resemblances to Anemones!). Even Super Glue couldn't keep my Platygyra colony on the LR.
And my fingers have her teeth signature between the webbing. OUCHH!!!

ONE other odd thing, last week she almost look like she was courting my C. argi angelfish! (????!!)

Clowns are the oddest fish.

My clowns did that for 6 months, and only now kinda venture to the front of the tank while the back and upper part of their tank is still specifically theirs.

Mine do the same thing....they hover around the output and "tag" each other all day long....now that they have an Anemone they do the same thing but in the anemone.

Mine do the same. After I upgraded to a larger tank, they now play in the back corner behind the rock. Lame

They are the only two things besides the corals in the tank, you'd think they'd play more.

I was upset with my ocellaris pair because they wouldn't go to the GBTA I bought them. They would swim around the tank in the day, but at night, every night, they would go to the top front corner of the tank. Then one day I guess the light bulb came on for them, and now they love the GBTA. But be careful what you wish for, because the female has become so territorial she bites me everytime I put my hand anywhere in the tank, not just near the nem. A few days ago she actually chased my hand all the way out of the water to bite me. She leaped completely out of the water just trying to get my fingers...!!!

At least they like their GBTA now, but I'm considering getting rid of her if I can catch her. I don't like to be afraid of my fish!!! I have to feed the nem with tongs, and even then she comes for my hands!

Mine hangs around the front corner of my tank, at least he's where he can be seen. Oh. Look There's Nemo! Occasionally he'll swim around, but I think he likes the current there.
