Duncanops placement?

I got a duncanops frag yesterday. I placed it in an indent in some of my live rock. It was open and happy. I noticed it was leaning today, so I righted it and it hasnt reopened for hours....is it possible I bruised the base?
Should I put it.in the sand or is a rock crevice ok?

i mounted mine on a rock about half way up i wouldn't worry she'll open up but in the begging def keep her low till she adjusts to your lighting/tank also once open i recommend target feeding mysis or brine and she'll have explosive growth mine went from two heads to 15 in 8 months after target feeding

mines came mounted on a plug i suppose she would but i would super glue the base on a small rock so she doesn't keep falling over and then you can place the small rock anywhere too

unlike softies who can attach themselves within days lps i believe take a while as then have to encrust the rock that's why when fragging lps there always glues but glue doesn't work for softies there just to slimy

i love my duncan too…i have mine glued into piece of coral skeleton i drilled a hole in…then i have it sitting in the sand….i would like to move it up but i have a couple corals to move around first…i also spot feed mine, once or twice a week it gets a mouthful of ocean nutrition...
