Dwarf Angels not reef safe

As many have said, the odds are very good they will nip at some point. The question is: Are you prepared to lose corals if it does? Angels typically leave SPS along; but LPS, softies, and zoas may be at risk.

Me personally...if I had to have the angel, I'd have another tank for my coral that may be at risk. Or I'd just accept that I'm going to lose some corals. I just put a Regal Angelfish in my tank yesterday knowing that it will probably trim some of my corals. If it gets to bad, I will change my coral to accommodate the Angel. :)

I think if you have a dwarf angel long enough, and there's opportunity, they'll nip at stuff. Said another way, there are two kinds: nippers and soon to be nippers. Got to decide priorities. I love dwarf Angels, have four in my tank, and if they nip they nip. C'est la vie.

+1 some develop a taste for Zoas others, LPS. If no nipping is a must then a dwarf angel isn't for you. Also dwarf angels can be aggressive despite their smaller size

I am roaming the check out your fish purchase thread and come across a common theme that dwarf angels are not reef safe or reef safe with caution. My question is do Dwarf Angels gravitate to a specific kind of coral? Are zoas safer than Stoney corals vs things like hammers and torches?

Any thoughts on a suitable dwarf angel in a 105 gallon primarily zoa tank?

I never had a problem with dwarf angels and Zoas; however, acans, favias, dendrophylia are an entirely different story.
