They will not bother cleaner shrimp. Like all eels they do not eat every day and often go on hunger strikes. But they are pretty much reef safe and not aggressive.

Mine has been in my reef for 5 years.
He will not tolerate ANY sandsifting gobie's or Jawfish, he will kill with no mercy!
He does tolerate my Randall's gobie and does not bother anyother fish in my tank.
I have seen him let my two fireshrimp clean him, even the inside of his mouth.
The only thing that he will eat is squid that I cut up in small pieces and have been frozen in a Vita-Chem and Selcon soak.
All in all, I love him in my reef.

Great to here to here the long term success of keeping these eels. Five years you deserve a congrats erendon. I have a contact that has 5-6" Dwrafs at around 150-175 if your interested. Regards, Tim
