Dying candycane coral

My corals are dying slowly and i don't know why. here is a picture of my candycane coral that was doing great last week. Now it appears to be being consumed be some type of growth. Last week I lost a small torch coral and I have another that has lost a head. The only thing I have done different is add kalk due to low calcium. Any help would be appreciated.

Drastic swings in Alk can cause big problems with some LPS Ive found, even if done slowly I'v found. It sounds like brown jelly tho, I would do an iodine dip at the least and see if that helps. I have battled it before, and it can be NASTY

is there anyway to stop the spread in the tank? what ive read basically you remove the coral or remove and treat. How can I keep it from killing anything new I add to the tank?

thanks for the input. I also thought it might be brown jelly. how did you resolve it? the iodine, is there a mix with water or do I use it straight out of the bottle? do I get it at a reef store or drug store? thanks for your help

I tossed anything that was expendable and looked rough, and then used a reef dip on everything that looked at all irritated. I use seachem reef dip, but Im sure any of the iodine based dips would work the same.

Ive wondered if anyone has worked up a homemade iodine dip, but havent looked into it.

I'm not sure which step helped me, or if I just got lucky in general, but by being proactive I'm sure you can beat this.
