Dying Galaxea...Chocolate Chip Stars on Parole

Well, I think I owe the Starfish an apology. I believe the Galaxea was just dying and the star was doing what it does.

Now, for the cause of death, thoughts?

1) I put a dying chalice from another reefers tank in there near it, perhaps a bacteria or something from it infected it?

2) The power outage two Mondays ago, tank was down for about 24 hrs, and it got pretty cool???

3) Poor Cal/Alk levels, will admit, I have not been dosing, just water changes???

4) Could it be anything else?

It just came on all of a sudden...looked great 2 days ago, noticed about 10% declining yesterday evening, this morning about 40% decline, got home from work about 90% dead/dying...

I fragged it into 4 pieces, one about 3" and 3 - 1" frags...hopefully one makes it.

This is my 1st coral death in 1.5 years of this tank being online and populated...makes me feel sick, I hate stuff dying in my care, even simple creatures...ugh...

One two and three are all very likely causes for coral tissue loss. Some like the galaxia are more succeptible to it than others.
