Dying open brain coral?

Hello,

Today I woke up to find that my heater had fallen on to my open brain coral and had killed a good portion of it. I was wondering if its worth trying to save or if I should just remove it completely. Right now its sitting in a container under the light. Here is a picture of the damage. I've had this coral for a long time and would hate to have to throw it out but I don't know if it can be saved.

As long as there's life showing on any coral it's worth keeping to see if it pulls out of it. Even then if they do die some will several months later start to sprout babies.
