EARS Meeting

ok guys and gals we have two places that have offered to host a meeting for EARS. We would love to have as many attend as possible and even would love for other reef clubs to attend and help us with ideas on things that you do at your meetings. Aqua Pets and Aqua Escapes have both graciously offered to allow us to have a meeting and i am looking forward to having one at both places. i will be getting with both to set up times and dates to have a meeting. The last i talked to Aqua Pets we are aiming for a meeting in December. If you can attend please let us know or if you have any ideas let us know what you would like to do at this meeting. Aqua Escapes will be aiming to have the meeting in January and we are hoping to keep our fingers crossed for a guest speaker but ill give more details as i learn more. :rollface: ~Carrie

Aquapets is a cool place. Jason is a good guy, every time I stop by there I end up talking for hours.

Yes i agree he is a nice guy I stopped in tonight and got an update on when he is going to be able to host the EARS meeting and we have decided to bump it to February instead. That would be better so we have time to spread the word about the meeting. I will be calling Aqua Escapes this week and hopefully set up a time and date for the meeting in January there As soon as i know something i will post on RC ~Carrie

so is EARS the Alabama Reefers club? I used to go to the meetings alot maybe two years ago but havent been to one in a while but would like to start back if you guys are still having them!

EARS is for Eastern Alabama Reef club. We thought the name would be cute cause we started it right after Easter I think so the bunny ears was kinda a cute joke. But we welcome anyone that lives near or far to join us when we have meetings. We are located around the area of Oxford, Anniston and the surrounding areas. gobiewan, we would love you have you attend the next meeting and anyone else that would like to come. I plan to have more info on January's meeting soon. When I hear anything I will post it on RC ~Carrie

As of yet there is still not a date set. The meeting will happen sometime in January but details need to be worked out. We had wanted to have a guest speaker but since Ears is in its baby stage with not enough members yet I dont see that as a option atm. We need to get enough members involved and possibly start having dues to keep Ears going to have a permanent club. Another aproach would be to allow people to pay like $10 cover charge to attend the meetings to help pay for door prizes and frag giveaways. I need to find out how many people are interested in attending a meeting with a guest speaker. The speaker will be charging for his service so we would need like a min of thirty people commited to attending. But i would also like if anyone has any ideas of things we could discuss as a meeting topic or a hands on project we could do during the meeting. Me personally i would like to start a brine or copepod culture.
