Eastern Earthquake.

My first thought after grabbing the baby was...aww crap, my tank! My house was really shaking.

Epicenter is a little over an hour south of me.

Definitely felt it in Raleigh.

A very large building on NCSU's campus shook quite a bit. Everyone was a bit perplexed.

No damages to my tanks after returning home. Whew....now gotta get ready for a hurricane this weekend.

Felt it here in PA. The tank sloshed a little but was more concerned the TV was going to fall than the tank. At least I could hold up the TV. Tank well if it was going to go, it was going to go.

Well that was interesting! I was at work and at first it felt like a HUGE truck was driving right by our building... I stepped outside puzzled to check... and stepped back in... it then felt like a freight train and things started shaking... we then knew it was an earthquake.

We were evacuated from our building, and my one coworker that has a reef tank heard from his girlfriend that his tank sloshed water everywhere and blew a circuit, causing a burning smell. My wife and kids were ok, but I of course then began worrying about my tanks! My brother had plates break at his house... People were in the streets at my work and all I could think was that they had nothing to worry about really... unless they had reef tanks like me! :D I took off for home and found everything okay thank God... my buddy from work has an apartment on the fourth floor so perhaps that made a difference on his sytem... My systems are on ground level and the first floor.

They're saying this was the worst earthquake in our state of Virginia here since 1897... nice to know my tanks (and family) survived!:celeb3:

Good thing John! Glad all is well.

Here in NYC there are reports of windows blowing out but nothing to bad and no one hurt (that I've heard of), thank God! I was in Time Warner at the time very high up, and I thought they were doing subway construction for a second... well yea I was wrong.

I live here in San Diego and we get them often. 5.9was yours I believe, we he'd one Easter of 10' that was a 7.2' no tanks in our local clubs were destroyed. These tanks are built like tanks, just some water splashing. Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Good to see your stuff made it A-Okay. Your collection was the first thing I thought of when I read about the quake.

Im glad to hear that nobody lost a tank and this quake reminded me of why I had my tank built out of 1 1/4" acrylic... in cental ca and waiting for our next earthquake.

I live in Burbank CA. and I remember the 1994 Northridge earthquake all I had was some water on the floor. The tank was fine and that was a big one! The bigger problem was the power going out for 2 day's I now have a small generator to run the tank and a big one to run some of the house! I hope everyone is ok!!
