Ebay.Ro/Di ?

Anybody ever purchase and use any of the RO DI units on Ebay?
If so what are your thoughts? Satisfied?


Here are a couple I looked at for consideration.
I don't need anything extravagant, just something to make good quality water for my reef tank.
Thoughts?

I always heard that RoDi units were just some kind of generic kit put together and than sold on eBay for $40 $50 more.

So I would just find some type of water unit store online and just purchased from them.

I wouldn't use the ones with the white canisters. You wont be able to see the filters to see how dirty they are. also for those prices why not just buy a BRS system?

I wouldn't hesitate buying one of these units off Ebay. I do agree about having clear housings as well.

the 5 stage from H20 science uses a horizontal DI cart which is not ideal.

i dont see many systems that have the need for more than 75GPD. if you unhook and store in between uses the membrane will dry out and not be nearly as effective when you hook it back up. Personally i think a 4 stage is all you need. which would be this one

I bought this RO/DI unit off of ebay and it works great, If it works I would go for the one that costs less as I'm on a budget.

i will sell my 5 stage BRS for $115, it may need new membranes. it was used for 5 water changes on my 80 gallong system.

Phil ,which one the sell quite a few 5 stage?
I may take you up on it but need to see what all the filters would cost to see if its worth it to me

pretty sure i have this - with a check valve installed for it to connect to a resevoir with a float valve.

Nothing wrong with the ebay rodi's. Things to check for are the clear housings and the number of stages, along with that check the filter sizes and the availability on them as you will have to replace those.
