Ecosmart Live BASIC Questions

Grizzled & Cynical
OK, so I bought a Vectra, and since it won't work with my apex, have also bought a Reeflink (under protest). Vectra is an awesome little pump, but Reeflink/Ecosmart is testing my patience. There doesn't seem to be any obvious place to go for any guidance on how to setup the Vectra via ecosmart (the video link in the Vectra pamphlet tells me 'no related long URL in data base' so that's unhelpful) and I'm just about ready to box it up.

Here, then, are my litany of problems:

1. I am able to calibrate the pump manually using the cludgy buttons, but not via ecosmart. Following the calibration instructions in ESL, the pump never turns off as it apparently should, and even if I go through the steps saving the configuration just grinds away permanently and I have to close down ESL.
2. When I set the Vectra to closed loop, make the adjustments to the daily program, they are saved to the pump; but when I close out ESL and then come back, ESL has reverted back to the default template.
3. When I try to add a new point (not sure what 'click off a point' actually means?) nothing happens.

Also, some basic information would be nice. for example, how far from the drivers can the reeflink unit be, odes reeflink store changes to the drive and can thus be off most of the time ........

Very frustrating piece of kit.

Simon,

Please make sure you are using Google Chrome as your web browser when signing into EcoSmart Live. Also, I would recommend calling in directly for more advanced troubleshooting, we would be happy to answer any questions you have as well.

+1 on the protest :sad2:
+1 on the awesome pump
+1 on the clunky instructions :sad2:

Chrome browser is something I had not tried, maybe that will help.

It appears that I'm going to be running my system like this (Apex to control most things and Reeflink for the Vectra) for a long time because I'm seeing postings on forums that indicate to me that Neptune Systems and Ecotech are not working the integration issue at all and instead each says they are waiting on the other party. The losers in this situation are Neptune Systems and Ecotech customers.

I have notice a huge difference between using it on IE and when I use it on Chrome or Safari. Much, much, much better performance on Chrome and Safari.

Clearly using ESL with Explorer is a non-starter. Could I suggest that on the ESL front page that is made clear. It does say 'optimized for chrome' but it doesn't say that you have to use chrome - subtle difference perhaps, but one that would have save me a few hours of fruitless efforts. It also appears that the radio board in my Vectra is either loose or not working as the 'W' is flickering. That, and Chrome, may well fix my issues.

Yeah .....

ETM products are great but the instructions leave a whole lot to be desired (fortunately their phone support is excellent, thank you JR). I suppose with any new piece of tech there's a learning curve that always costs a bit of hair (for me, at least). Was true with my Apex back when I first got it too (though with that there is an excellent comprehensive user-authored guide).

Ah well, keep on keepin' on ....
