EcoTech Marine VorTech MP40 Release Information

I like Melev have both Tunze and Vortech, why cant I have both?

you can have what ever you want. but does the tunze do anything the vortech does not? if so why can't we talk about what can be done to the vortec to make it do the same are even better.

im not saying the flow would not be lost in some degree. but if alot of people are runing them less that 100% and you put on a deflector to off set the flow, just cut the pump up some. the amount of deflection does not have to be great to make a difference. once the water gets moveing in a direction it will continue. thats what a few classes in civil engineering tought me.

trust me im not getting mad about anything. i think its funny how if no one is one the same bandwagon as a few others on this forum they get blasted.

so as far as you are concerned nothing else can be done to improve this pump. if so why do you still use a have tunze?

Because I already own both.

Me too.

Got my new drive shaft on Friday and installed today.

The new drive shafts dont have that nub that goes into the wet frame anymore correct? Black ring snaps into the wet frame, white piece lays inside the black ring and the black shaft lays on top of the white piece. Does that sound right? The long screw really holds everything in place now.

Let me know if what i descibed sounds right.

wfgworks-

You have it right. The name of the parts are:

black ring- plastic wet bearing
white piece- ceramic drive shaft
black shaft- plastic drive shaft extension

"This thread has been quite lately. Sounds like the kinks are starting to work themselves out!"

Just in time for a new release this month.
Pumps are going to become available as we start filling existing Purchase Orders.

What does the new release address/fix? I'm close to buying one but want to make sure it is completely solid as I will be bringing down all my Seios for 2 of these.

Thanks.

We're not perfect, but we learn from our mistakes.

The most current revision is all that will be available. The silence of happy reefers speaks volumes about what can happen when a product is made in America.

There were some kinks but we were able to react and correct them immediately. From feedback on this forum as well as our own experiences on our own tanks we have a better product then we started with. Yes, it has cost time and money to fix and make changes, but it's all worth it when you have a great product like this, working like a champ.

Mine are doing better but I still have to adjust one in particular at least once per day. I think it may be that the cord isn't held tight enough (or I don't have it mounted low enough in relation to the cord keeper). The new shafts seem to be doing well and I really like the new wet frame gasket. That has really solved some problems for me.

I also have experimented with using the heavy duty velcro for the cords with success. I have been having problems with the standard issue double-sided tape eventually coming off. The heavy duty velcro is a dark gray color and holds REALLY well so anyone having a problem with that should give it a try.

Pumps released this month will feature the EcoTech Marine logo on the serial number sticker located on the bottom of the driver.

None.
If you look back on the pages on multitude of exchanges of information on this and related threads you can see each and every customer that has had any problem was followed up and resolved. If you develop a problem we'll be there.

I'm just trying to clear the air that any new product is the sum of all the fine tuning that has been detailed on this forum.
