Ecotech placement

Just got two vortech MP40w's. Need advice for placement and setting(s).

They are currently 7" from top, and 13" from back, on opposite sides facing each other set up as master/slave.

Reef tank is 22" deep, 31" tall, and 48" wide. Have rockwork going up about 20" high. I'm fairly new to hobby. Have Softies (toadstool, spaghetti finger), LPS (bubble, frogspawn), polyps (starburst, xenia).

What's best placement and mode for health of tank/corals? The frogspawns seem to be getting "blown on" a bit. Is this ok, or not.

Thanks in advance!

I would place the pumps about 6" down and 8" from the front glass pane with both pumps on opposite sides in a mode of your choice. I would start with Lagoon mode if your tank is mostly softies and LPS. From there I would just tweak placement as you see fit.

I've got a 40 breeder (36lx18wx16h)where do I need to place my mp40w? Currently I have it 2-2.5 inches from the surface and is approximately in the middle on the right side of my tank. Is it in the optimal spot or do you have any recommendation?

Thanks

Craiger sorry for the hijack.

I just bought 3 used MP40w and i am wondering where they should be placed for best setup. I was thinking one on either side facing each other and one on the back wall facing forward. The tank is 72x24x24 180g with 2 internal overflows on the back wall.

Does this sound good? Also is it best to have them directly across from each other or should one be towards the front and the other closer to the back. I figured i would used the anit-sync mode on those two and reef crest on the one for the back wall.

I am going with a full mixed reef if that helps.

Thanks
Jason

I just got my 3rd Vortech for my 180gal. I have two on one side and one on the other all positioned at the top of the tank. I currently have the two Vortechs that are across from each other on opposite sides one being the Master in long pulse and the other in anti sync and the one next to it in sync with the master. This creates a toilet bowl effect in the center. This is the nice thing about these, there are tons of different flow patterns.

so for the two at opposite ends, do you have them towards the front of the tank?

and then the one in anti sync towards the back?

I have 2 vortechs thinking of getting one more to do something similar, but I have to order it by today to get special pricing. My tank is 30" wide (front to back).

I am not sure that i why i was trying to find the best placement. I was thinking of having the 2 on opposite sides from each other on anti-sync hoping for some wave action and then the one on the back was just on reef crest.

I do not have any of them in yet as the tank is still being put together i was just trying to figure out where i should put them when i get there.
