Ecotech re-circulating pump

Has anybody read anything on this? IF, and that's a big if, it works it would be wonderful - no more big fugly ph's in the tank!

It looks like if it ever gets on the market that it will be sold out for months and months.

Me again, I didn't watch the video before. All I can say is WOW!! Me want! Wonder how it would work in a cube?

Ah yes, well for the 24" cube I am planning $345 for a pump is a bit of overkill. Hee! I'll wait until the price comes down since I am planning an external overflow which will hide everything anyway.

I doubt they will "come down" in price. They are made by IceCap, who is still selling VHO ballasts for the same price they did 10 years ago. They are supposed to have a wider flow than Tunze Streams. A TS is $362 with the magnet holder and controller. The Vortech will also need a controller, but they promise it will be better than the TS controller. In the long run I would rather spend $400 on a pump than $200 on a few pumps that are not so versatile.

True, and if I was doing a big tank I would definitely consider it - worth the $ to move water down the length of a long tank without a bunch of equipment all over the place. But I think for 24" I will stick to an Eheim with a couple of bulkheads and nozzles.
