I have a standard 75. Lps dominant tank, should I get 2 mp10's or 1 mp40? I only want around 3000gph max so either option would work just which is a better set up? The glass on the tank is 3/16"

I wouldn't go 2 mp10's, I have 2 on a 4ft tank and they are adequate but only when running at higher power settings which can be noisey.

I'd suggest 1 mp40 and 1 mp10 or 2 mp40's..

If you don't care about the noise then 2 mp10's will work but you will need them at 70%+ at the least.

I would go with 2 MP10's. I have a 4'X2' tank with a MP40 and a MP10. They work better than just the MP40 but i think an equal output would be better. The MP40 side has a constant undertow. Also two MP40's would be just to much. You would have to really attenuate the output to be reasonable.

I would go with MP40's. Of course I like alot of flow. I use MP10's on my small tanks: 20L frag and BioCube29. Pair of MP40's on my 90G.

I have one MP-40 on my 75. I can cut it at about 70% (constant speed) before it starts to pick up my sugar fine sand from the left side. Flow on the right is decent, but I plan on getting another MP-40 so that I can dial it down.

I prefer having equipment that is overrated for the job, with the expectation of getting longer service life from gear that isn't being pushed hard.

On my 75 I use a MP40 and a Hydor Evo 1400. What I noticed is that the MP40 side (right) has a lot of undertow and flow. But once you go beyond 2' past it, the flow is pretty low. I run it at 75%

I plan to replace the left Hydor with another MP40 once funds permit it. I keep SPS and LPS and Softies

Also, I dont know what brand of tank you use, but mine is a 75g aqueon drilled tank, and I called the manufacturer a few days ago and asked them the glass thickness and they told me all sides are 5/16

I also have an MP40 on my 75 and plans are for another one on opposite side. I would be concerned that with the two MP10s you would have to dial them up and the noise factor will come in. I rather keep the MP40 dialed down, it is quieter and I can always ramp them up if needed.

Without a doubt a pair of MP40's. I feel like you're much better off dialing the pair down rather than running the MP10's at a high rate all the time. It's noisy and really just not your best solution.

If you can't get a pair of MP40's now get a single one and then another as funds permit.

Well I pulled to plug and got myself a mp40. And it puts out so much flow, instead of getting another one I iust decided to get a mp10 just as a supplement.

I have one mp40 on my 120 FOWLR. What mode do you guys run in. I have been going back and forth between the NTM and the Reef Crest mode. Both seem to be good, but I haven't seen an actual benefit inthe tank between either mode.

I was in the same boat as I have a 5ft 120. I thought about 2 mp10s but decided on 1 mp40. I have 4 koralias in my tank now but I can get rid of 3 of them for one mp40 and have ALOT more flow plus a ton more options for flow variance . And when I decide to change my rift lake 225 to a reef I'll already have one mp40 to upgrade with =P
