Has anyone met or dealt with ecreef (Alex Connely)? I recently sold and shipped to him a Reefkeeper 1 Unit and have yet to receive payment.
So far I have heard "the dog spilled water on my computer so I won't be on here very often", If you haven't recieved the check I will need to resend it, someone has been stealing mail in my building" and "I just dropped it off at fedex this morning, I will email you the tracking number this afternoon"
Anyone know how to get a hold of this guy? I want payment or the unit returned, doesn't seem ureasonable does it?
John

I'm surprised you sent off a product before you received payment from someone you didn't know. But, I don't know the details of your negotiations, so I can't really comment.

Yeah the exchange should have been handled differently, but I reviewed several of his posts on RC and spoke with him on the phone. I learned a lesson and hopefully this particular matter will resolve itself in a friendly manner.

Lame! I will keep my eye out for him as I seem to be on the site 20 or so hours a day LOL

He blew me off on a sale. Didn't call, show up or return my calls. Seller beware.

Not to surprising. He kept saying he wanted to buy a wet/ dry I have and kept flaking. Not so much as a phone call or PM.

This sucks, a Google of his cell phone number returned a bunch of unhappy customers on a JeepsUnlimited forum. This iterates me, Itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s not a whole lot of money but still could have bought a couple buckets of salts. I feel like this is one of those things that is going to grate on my nerves until I get to the bottom it. I am going to drive by the delivery address and see if anyone at the address knows Alex if not then I am going to drive by an address in Richmond, VA on an upcoming trip and pay a visit to what appears to be his parents home whose number and address I got from the Jeep forums. Or do I just let it go? Is there any sort of government agency I can report this to? Sorry for all the questions.

Court

Court

Subpeona him through small claims and have him pay the court costs. Then have the courts garish his wages. I work for the Department of Revenue I'll have someone audit him for you.

Yea, sorry to hear about all that. He is a hard guy to get ahold of. It sounds like you already have his cell phone number. But if you don't let me know I might be able to find it. He was going to give me a fish but the fish ended up getting ich and dieing, so it never went through. He said his cell sits in his car most the time, and that is why he does not anwser. But IME he does not return messages too. Not saying if he is ligit or not, just saying it is very hard to get ahold of him IME. I have never met him or anything ether.

This make me glad that I never sent him any money on that live order he was trying to do about a week or two ago here. Not too mention he hardly returned any of my PM's or phone messages throughout the whole process which left a sour note in my mind.

Me Too!

Anytime John.

I hope you get your money soon. If not you could ask the richmond part on this forum to get in contact with him or to verify his address. (http://reefcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=335) If you can't pull money out of him I'm sure the local club would be willing to blacklist him from group meetings or get RC ban his IP since there seems to be some criticism of him even in colorado.

Good luck. I've never been to small claims for myself, but I went quite a bit with my dad as a kid (he owned rent houses). It's pretty easy--you pay your money, show up on your day, and make your case to the judge. Small claims judges are pretty forgiving since no lawyers are involved. Usually the other person doesn't show up, so you win automatically.

Otherwise, just be sure to take everything that you have that's in writing. I'd find the ups stub or whatever, too, just to prove you sent the package.

Oh, yeah. Unfortunately, I think you have to sue the guy wherever he lives, but I'd probably ask a lawyer about that.

So, if you sue him and win, will he ever pay you? Maybe. He doesn't have to. You can garnish his wages, but then you have lawyer's fees and I don't think you can sue him for that. If he owns his home, you can put a lien on his house. That way he can't sell his house until he takes care of you first. But, you don't know how long that'll take.

Given the situation as you've described it, if I didn't live too far away, I'd probably sue him just for the principle of the thing. But I wouldn't necessarily be counting on ever seeing the money.

Good luck!

John, I deal with criminal and civil prosecution on a weekly basis with my work and Umm, fish? has covered just about everything you need to know about small claims, what to expect, and just about all of your options related to it. Since he is probably watching the boards and keeping up with this thread I am sending you a PM with some other options and to help you get this ball rolling.

This is the king of stuff i as talking about in my Ive had it; thread a few weeks ago. Sorry for the bad luck and hopfully he has a good excuse for this. One thing to remember NEVER send a product with out receiving a pmt first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It cuts both ways, unfortunately. You shouldn't send payment to somebody you don't know or trust since you have no other assurance that they'll send the merchandise.

I guess we all need to determine what the default amount of trust is that we'll extend to other people--how much are you willing to lose if that trust is misplaced? One of us might not be willing to lose more than $10 whereas another might feel comfortable riskin $100.

I remember my first consulting visit to eBay in 1998. I'd never heard of them before that and I was so impressed by the feedback concept they had implemented...so simple but so revolutionary.

Unfortunately the informal peer pressure of this group appears not to be quite as binding on "fringe" members.

Sent one out first thing this morning. It's all 100% my fault as my mail seems to be all messed up and it was due to bad note taking and the box at my building. Sorry for any mixup.
