Ed, so how are you liking the lumenbright? Im amazed that 2 covered your entire tank! How many inches is the light bulb above the water?

I'm so in love with my LB - great spread and no glare :D

I have them 42cm (16.5") above the water !!

You make zeovit system look so easy. Are you (zeohead) yet. Tank look great love it. This time no shirmp to cycle as last time. No cleanup crew unless you decide to have some. Like the colors of the pipe, Canopy is the bomb.

Thank elijaher - got my 'zeohead' statues from my previous tank

   you still remember those jumbo shrimps I used for cycle in my old tank...what a memory !!

Cleanup crew is in but a lot less compare to previous tank as I found out they like to get stuck between the rocks and die on me !!

GHL Controller:

Meanwhile, I think there is something wrong with my GHL controller?? I’m sending the controller back to my Singapore distributor together with the 2 x Ph probe and my conductivity probe for testing…

I believe it could be the probe issue as I didn’t keep it wet during the few months I was reefless :mad2:

Will keep everyone update once I have some info…

cool. didn't know there is a GHL distributor in my country

Do it....!! Red is a very bold color but you just have to make sure you choose the right shade of Red :p

I must have spray so many different shade of Red before I find the one I like :D

what u mean by spraying? you lost me. isnt it done by the carpenter or did u actually have to "choose the color" when they are spraying those woodwork.

is there any color reference for me?

Yes they have - but unfortunately the distributor I bought mine from just lost his distribution rights but he still promise me to look into my unit!! Too bad too as his customer service is second to none!!

I will let you know once I hear who the new distributor is in Singapore as I'm sure they will try to get in touch with me...

You're part correct - a carpenter made the stand/ canopy but then it's spray paint and later oven baked. Same method/ paint used for cars... this way the paint is much thicker and looks much nicer!!

Smooth and sexy silky finished........like a Ferrari :D

SOME COOL ZOA….

SOME COOL ZOA….

A friend of mine got in a whole shipment of zoa in assortment of colors… I was never into zoa much but those are some crazy colors and hard not to be tempted to place some in the tank….

Coral44.jpg

Coral43.jpg

And after a few hours, all the zoa seems to have adjusted to the water nicely….

And this is how my zoa garden looks like…

Don’t ask me for the names of those zoa as I’m ignorant on zoas

OK, about time to spice the build thread up a notch!!

Stay tune for an exciting update tomorrow….

And yes, Jeremy…. I know what u’re going to say!!

Those zoa colonies are beautiful. So much nicer than starting off with some tiny frags.

So true - add nice colors into the tank, while you fill em up with color stick.

Buy me some time too..... :p

SOMETHING COOL TO SHARE !!

SOMETHING COOL TO SHARE !!

With so many switches, I got my secretary to make laminated labels for me

Label01.jpg

Big deal…. labels â€"œ WHAT SO COOL ABOUT THAT!!

But heeeeeeeey wait?? What does this switch ‘LED TOP’ does??

Label02.jpg

LED16.jpg

How do you like this?? Will only switch this ON when I have visitors in my apartment :crazy1:

LED15.jpg

‘Normal’ times the tabletop will not be lighted, as I’m worried on unnecessary heat emission and most importantly wasting unnecessary electricity!

For those who are interested how this is done, I got my electrician to DYI some LED in strips and double sided taped them inside the edge of the top and side as the material over the whole edge is using a semi-transparent material.

LED01.jpg

LED02.jpg

LED03.jpg

In order to ensure the lights are evenly spread along the marble edge, we stick the LED strips in an L-shape with one strip facing the top and another strip facing the side.

LED05.jpg

LED06.jpg

Those LED are made in strips of 3 x LED per strip so if any LED is blown and need replacement, you just replace that strip instead of redoing the whole parameter of the edge….

These same transparent artificial marble materials/method are used for modern lighted tables/bar counters in nightclubs/ trendy restaurants.

:lol2:

And I got them in 2 different colors too…..

In Blue.....
LED08.jpg

In Red.....
LED10.jpg

I tried a couple of different colors LED â€"œ white, yellow and finally decided these 2 colors will look the best on the artificial marble as the white/ yellow is just too bright and give out too much hot spots and make the light spread uneven along the marble.

Even a crazy combi….

LED07.jpg

and what’s more…..I got myself a remote to easily switch between those 2 colors, or if you look, the remote actually have an option to hook up to 3 colors of LED but I was limited in space so only hook em up to 2 colors!!

LED remote:
LEDRemote.jpg

LED remote sensor:
LEDRemoteSensor.jpg

Now, if I can only hook em up to my home surround system and let the lights beat to the music would turn my apartment into the ‘trendiest’ hang-out place in town lol

Hopefully this brings our hobby to a whole new level of display altogether…

:lolspin:  :lolspin:
