Edison Customers Beware!!!

Just to let those of you know who are Edison customers and have large fish tanks, along with A/C units in their house. There is going to be a rate increase tomorrow of about 40% if you are one who uses a great deal of energy. For instance if your bill was about $350 this month it will be about $500 next month. I was told this by my girlfriend who works for Edison and is a manager for the division that interrupts your A/C when they need power. I hope this helps.

I heard there was a 52% increase that was "mandated" by the PUC.

When the customer service rep told me it was "mandated" I hit the roof: it wasn't "mandated" but instead ALLOWED...

I thought that already went into effect, though. I'll call and check.

Solar anyone?

That's just great.
So everyone that has Edison is going to see a hike in the bill???
Can you say generator, I'll buy one just for the tanks.
Gas will a lot cheaper.

looks like a lot of us have seen that increase... if they increase gain, I am dead. I will shut it all down , sell it and be done for ever

I was just thinking the same, but I will just keep my new nano tank only.
Is this for OC and/or Riverside county????
Does anyone know for sure.

if thats true i have no idea what im guna do my bill last month from so cal edison was $360....

so if its $500 this month im guna puke!

man what the hell how can electricity be so damn expensive!

you guys can try to get the leaches in (class action lawyers) to see if they could help. Most likely, it will take years and the leaches will take all the money that was won.

^^^ De-Regulation...Remember about 7-10 years ago (I don't remember when)....A few intellectuals got together and convinced the Government to de-regulate energy for California...The frist county that got hit was San Deigo....Right after the price hike...All these small businesses in the area affected closed their doors.....

Rate increase was in May, supposedly up to 30 percent. Then they are going to add another "tier" which will be about 49 percent (not sure whether or not it will be cumulative).

I've got them on the phone now and they're trying to find the information on their web site so I can take a peek at it.

Again, solar anyone?

I got mine today, $596.55. Now I need to give the oil companies some more of my money cause I need to get some grease.

that is bs. essential stuffs like gas, water and electricity should not be de-regulated or at least it should be control by the government instead of greedy CEOs. I guess, it's a free country, I don't have to buy it.

Another thing, how long does it take to build more power plants since enron screwed us over?

I can't believe all these years and we have not made any improvement to our electricity supply.

what's next, rate hike for water usage?

We need nuclearenergy AGAIN.
Who said to Close those power plants down anyway??????

A huge portion of the PUC-allowed rate increases are to pay for maintaining nuclear plants. With our current level of technology, nuclear power plants costs so much to build and maintain that they have to be decommission becuase they wear out before that are paid for.

The energy companies don't care because they just past the costs on to the users, so they have no incentive to improve the technology and efficiency. For all the news about environmental concersn over nuclear, the real reason we don't use it is because of the high costs.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That's exactly what it is...GREEDY CEOs....Most our electrical plants aren't even operating at 100 percent efficiency...Yet they keep coming up with new excuses for upgrades, rebuilds, etc....I wonder what it'll take before the Government will step in and put a stop to this crap.
