Well, you guys might think this is just stupid but I really like the results...

I took this...

There are probably better ways to do what I did, because this took me about half an hour and I'm sure I was wasting time with the process I used, but it was still fun. I'm still learning Photoshop and the best way to do it is have fun with a photo I like :)

Cripes, it is absolutely amazing what can be done with Photoshop. I have been using it for years and still don't know anywhere near all there is to learn.

Neato boffo keano. I think there could be another photography forum titled something like "based on reality" where pics which were captured from tanks are manipulated into beautiful, artistic though inaccurate images. My focus is creating accurate images of what I see in my tank, so it would be a hoot to forget about that constraint and just have fun with PS sliders. Go Grant!

This was pretty fun to work on, I masked off certain areas like the face, the mouth, the eye and the dorsal fin highlight then edited each one of those pieces separately, changing colors and saturation and exposure and whatever else I wanted. It was actually hard to not get too goofy and keep the fish matching at least somewhat.

But it was fun and it is helping me improve my technique for sure :)
