Ed's 150 Gallon Build

I would drop the six line and maybe add a Midas Benny. My 6 line attacked and killed all new additions once he was settled in. I had to remove him. The Midas adds an interesting motion to the tank.

Interesting my 6 line never bothered anyone in my old tank. The Midas Blenny is a good idea though too. Thanks for the suggestion.

What pump are you using and what fitting did you use on it. I have a DCT 12000. and I like the way u have the pump set up.

Its actually just a threaded to slip pvc coupling that i found at the local hardware store and then added a reducer onto the slip on end to reduce it to 1" for my plumbing. Im also using the DCT 12000

Do you know what store. I would like to get the same. I'm one of those that go by if you made it work can you show me too. thanks.

Also. How do you like the pump. I still have not run my. NIB. just want to get all the parts b4 I fire up.
i got the fitting at Mcdonald's Hardware on SR 84 in Ft Lauderdale. When i asked one of the plumbing guys for what i was looking for he went right to it and said it was a common fitting.I went there because i read people had trouble finding the fitting and that place usually has everything. I like the pump so far and i'm only running it at the second setting right now with 5' 1/2" of head height with plenty of flow so the test will be to see how long it holds up

Welcome back to the hobby. I am also back after 8 years of being away from the hobby... Boy has a lot changed, I hear you there! Looking good so far, keep it up.

So here are some updated pics. Tank is finished cycling as of a few days ago and seems to be doing good. Just added some chaeto to the fuge courtesy of a local fellow reefer and while i was in the process of waiting for the DT to cycle i set up a QT tank and am housing a maron clown and a yellow watchman goby who after the qt time will go into the dt. Im going to put a small clean up crew in next weekend to allow them to get to work on the algae (ITS HARD TO SEE IN THE PICTURE). After testing calcium mag and alk and dosed to within the parameters i wanted i have put in a smal neon green toadstool and have some dragons breath in the tank right now to see how they do before i put anything else in the tank

Here are some updated pics as of yesterday. Tank seems to be doing well so far !!! Sorry for the crappy pics i'm using my cellphone
