Eel escape tricks

JSeymour,

Do I need to worry much about a Golden Dwarf opening (lifting) the front of the hood? Or do that not have that sort of strength?
No not really for the gdm although they are all strong for their size. I use a clear packing type tape for my lids to keep them down. I change it around once a month or so. I've had quite a few try to push it up and so far so good it has worked. I also use the gutter guard on a couple of my tanks and it has worked well.

Awesome Moray Keeper, I'll def. make sure I do something with the fronts as well.

Seems that I'm going to have to make a few more mods on the other side of the tank as well. I'll mess with that tonight...

Good thing my source for the GDM hasn't got back to me yet about finding a darker orange eel. I want to make sure the tank is 100% (ok 98%) locked down first ;)

Sealed up the other side of the tank now...

Leaving the HOB filter on, with the Eheim 2075 and skimmer it should provide too much filtration... which I guess it good :hmm5:

Kind of got used to it there... so I guess it'll stay for now.

Depending on the size of the eel I get, I'll need to see if I have to cover up the smallest of gaps left...
