eggcrate top and par value

Does an eggcrate top on an open top aquarium reduce par significantly, or is so minimal as to not worry? Only reason to use it would be to get some fish that may jump out. Thanks

That is a hard question to answer without more info. I.e. what type of lighting, distance from tank etc.... Is this for your 29?

Significantly, I have heard 20%. Do the bird netting thing. You can find it in the DIY forum.

This was going to be on a 20L with 130 watts of PC lighting, but I won't use it if it significantly reduces par values. I'll just go with non-jumpers. Love that avatar kindbro!

I have used eggcrate on top of my tank for 20+ years without problems. I highly doubt the 20% reduction
