Where can one find eggcrate to use on the top of a tank to keep fish from jumping out? I went to lowes earlier today and struck out. Thanks!

Lowes, Home Depot, menards, just about any bigbox hardware store. It is in the drop ceiling section. About $14 for a 2x4 foot panel.

They call it light diffuser at lowes and Home Depot.

Yeah I asked around and nobody heard of light diffuser and I checked in the lighting section. Is that near the drop ceiling section?

Near the carpet and tile at Home Depot

If you don't need the corners and if they are broken off they will cut you a deal if you ask.

At the Home Depot I live at, they are located in the same section as the fluorescent shop lights. Same area as the lighting section. Good luck. Even my local Ace hardware has it.

You probably aren't gonna like the egg crate blocks light pretty good and smaller fish seem to make their way through. Get some DIY window screen materials and some screen. I used the stuff for ponds to keep leaves out in the fall. It's very cheap and overall cost will be comparable to the eggcrate.

+1 on ohioreef71 comment. And egg create can also cause shadows in your tan, where screen or bird netting will not.

Check it out. Holes are about 3/8'' and no noticeable light change. Too bad you're not closer to Akron I have a ton of screen left over from when I made mine. After losing a few diamond gobies this stuff put an end to that.

yes the bird netting works great, with no shadows. can get it at any garden center as well

Thank you for that suggestion. I do like that idea better then eggcrate. Maybe I will make that my project for tomorrow
