Eggs Hatching in waves?

I had B & W Oci clowns lay eggs on 8/11/09 at around 6:30pm.
The first wave of eggs to hatch (approximately 80) was on 6/16/09 @ 10:pm, 1/2 hour after lights out. After this hatch there was a considerable amount of eggs still under the males care. On 8/17/09 @ 10PM approximately 50 more larva were caught. At this point there are still lots of eggs left, 80% silver eyes on the remaning eggs.

Is this normal for clown eggs to hatch in waves?
My temp is an average of 82 F.

Should I be worried about mixing the eggs from the first nights hatch with the third nights hatch?

This is my first time raising clowns, I would appreciate any advice.

well, so far no feedback from anyone so I'll add what i've watched and learned so far.
The eggs hatched on day 6, day 7, day 8. The larva from day 8 were over twice the size as the two earlier spawns. The day 8 larva have been doing far better than the other larva, they have silver stomachs, larger eyes and are actively hunting down thier prey. There were approximately 300 larva from all three days combined. There are currently approximately 100 larva left at this point. The early hatches didn't seem to be able to catch prey. The first 72 hours I kept the roti count around 20 per ml. Still the early hatchers haven't even developed a peanut shape, still tapered, some with bent tails as if they are still in the egg sac itself.

I'm not sure if it is normal for some larva to hatch early or not. As far as this experience has shown me the early hatched larva are not worth the time and tank polution due to most or even all of them failing to capture prey before thier yolks ran dry.

I regularly have hatches spread over 2 or 3 days and I mix the larvae from all days. I haven't had any hatch at 6 days though. I have had the opposite problem of them hatching on days 8, 9 and 10 meaning that the later days have bugger all time to learn how to hunt before they starve. Keep your disturbances to a minimum because I am sure this can effect the hatch and don't shine a light on the eggs as they are starting to hatch. Lighting up the eggs seems to stop the hatch.

Good luck with your remaining larvae.

I also have a pair of clowns that are spawning on a regular basis. I would like to try to raise them. what kind of a set up and how big does it have to be.
