Eggs loose in the tank...?

The other day there was about 20 or so bright orange eggs floating in the tank. I looked up and found a pic of seahorse eggs online and it looks like what was in the tank. Do the females release eggs on their own or could it have been a missed deposit into the males brood pouch?
The only other inhabitants are cleanup crew and I know what their eggs look like.
Thanks!

Yes, that was your female's eggs. I don't know whether your pair had a miscommunication or what but that happened to my pair the day he delivered the babies. In the morning he was birthing, by lunch he was courting and sometime after dinner they missed the mark and the eggs were in the tank. They were bright orange just like you described.

Yea I found one little baby yesterday, neither male looked pregnant at all so it got me by surprise. I ran to the fish store today and got some rotifers and I also put some decapsulated brine eggs in for hatching. If he makes it till tomorrow then I should have enough food for him. I know my chances are low, but I'm gonna give it a try with him :)
