eggs?

These look like eggs. Local inhabitants: snails, shrimp, hermits and a crab. Plus hitchhikers of the wormy sort. Any info?

Well, whatever they are, the little white dots, about six per sac, have begun to move about.

I have "moon" snails, astraea, two types of turbo, and one unidentified hitchhiker with a very shallow ram's-horn effect, plus one with a tweedy elongate dark shell that the blue-leg hermits greatly covet. If there's a strombus in the tank, I haven't spotted him yet. [Live rock with a horde of hitchhikers.] I was kind of leaning toward the snail-egg theory. I tried a magnifying glass, and they mostly have a little bottom strip and what I take for some sort of original personal egg case, if it's not their rudimentary shell: if the latter, it's ball-shaped.
And two more cases have just turned up in the same corner. Whatever's going on, I suspect I'm about to have quite a few snails, given I don't have any fish (yellow goby and firefish) inclined to eat them. Interesting.

I think we're about to be hip-deep in snails. The only thing I can think of to protect them from predation (my tank doesn't have predators to speak of, unless the shrimp venture further toward the front glass than they ever have) would be to move a rock fairly near the eggs to make sure nothing can get in there until the snail-lets can disperse somewhat after hatch.

I have nothing in the tank as far as fish or invert besides a peppermint shrimp, and the snails. I hope they will hatch and grow!
