Looking into getting 2 of these:

My ballasts came with spare male ends to wire to other fixtures, to connect to the female ends on the ballast. These pendants have the stupid proprietary plug that sunlight supply likes to put on their stuff.

Anybody around here good with electrical that could possibly help me if I get these pendants?

I could help you out. It is pretty much clip and twist when re-wiring a new plug, just make sure the colors match.

Thanks guys! I don't see any crimping needed though - the plug that came with has a screw which removes a cap and then there are 3 screws underneath for wires. That is what goes on the pendant and then you plug into the ballast.

I'll make my decision on which pendants tomorrow and get them ordered up. You guys rock!

I don't know what NEMA crimps are, but I successfully re-wired and added another ballast and power cord to my T5 fixture to put the bulbs on different timers.

It's electrical standards for 3 prong plug types...the crimers are certified for a 50 year crimp and are used in most states for code...it's not a big deal Adrian, but theyese for b are very good and much better than the run of the mill crimpers you buy for 10 bucks. The wiring is easy....

I have the tools for building Datacenters and labs.

Ah I see. I am a wire nut kind of guy. But I used to do a lot of underground wiring of solenoid valves for irrigation.

The wiring is not big deal...jsut as long as he gets good plugs to replace...I reccomend water proof ones that are all plastic and not the steel collar kind..always the best bet around a tank as even if they don;t get wet they still rust from humidity.

These are all plastic except for the metal posts inside to attach the wires to.

Zach, the posts will be metal..have to conduct electricity..I was referring to the housing that surrounds the terminal posts.

Everything else is plastic.
