How heavy of flow do they tolerate? I have 2 koralia 4's and a mag 9.5 in my 75g reef.

I have a Vortech 40 opposite side and a mod'd MJ ~2500gph on the other. And a few other gph devices. So they will handle some indirect flow, most keep them on the bottom in a spot with the least flow.

Yah i have a pair of K2's and i keep it kinda sheltered behind some rocks, it doesnt seem to like much flow, it seems to look betst when it is gently swaying in the current.

gsxunv04, Did you ask where that elegance was collected? It's showing signs of being an Indonesian Elegance. Hopefully it's just ticked off due to shipping stress, but it sure doesn't look that way. I do hope I'm wrong though.
Please keep us posted on its condition.

agreed, that coral is showing the typical signs of what most elegance have been doing these days. It is amazing. I remember back around 1990 when these guys were so hardy and affordable. It is sad and I hope that we figure out what the issue is with them.

Looking good gsxunv04!
I feed mine once or twice a week. They will eat just about anything. I mostly feed fortified shrimp and fish meat though.

Mine is starting to expand. I think I need to move it to a bigger tank.

thanks guys, Im going to feed it a small chunk of silverside today, I will post more pics soon. I saw it poop yesterday, brown pellets out of each of its 5 mouths. Should I give a small bit of silverside to each mouth?
I want its tentacles to fill out like the rest of you guys'

do your elegance corals tentacles ever shrivel up? I did a water change(third since I have had my elegance) and it shriveled its tentacles up today. I fed it a few days ago, maybe its hungry again?

Thanks. He just keeps getting bigger. He's about a foot top to bottom and front to back. I measured it the other day from side to side. It was about 15 3/4 inches.

Elegance corals will withdraw a day or to after eating, to poo. That may be what you are seeing.

One of the first signs that an Indonesian elegance is ill, is their tentacles withdraw. It's highly likely that this is what you are seeing. It's impossible to know without pic's.
